Some Things You Should Consider When You Buy Ultrasonic Cleaner:

Size The dimensions (length, width, depth) of the ultrasonic cleaner’s tank must be sufficient to accommodate what you are cleaning. Typically these are small parts, but all surfaces must be immersed in the cleaning solution.

Baskets Ultrasonic jewelry cleaning is accomplished in baskets. Most baskets, whether included or optional, have holes too large for jewelry and watch parts. Fine mesh baskets are available that can be placed in regular baskets or otherwise suspended in the cleaning solution.

Note: Jewelry and watch parts should never be allowed to rest on the bottom of an ultrasonic cleaner tank.

Ultrasonic Frequency This determines the size of the cavitation bubbles. For jewelry and watch parts a frequency of 37 to 45 kHz is generally satisfactory, producing bubbles small enough to penetrate small cracks, crevices and other openings.

1. Prepare the cleaning solution.
   If your equipment does not have a degas mode allow it to operate for 10 minutes to drive off trapped air in a process called degassing. (This should be done each time you prepare a fresh batch of solution.)
2. In the meantime position objects to be cleaned in the mesh basket. When ready simply lower the basket into the cleaning solution, close the lid and set the timer for 5 minutes.
   Actual cleaning time depends on the number of items being cleaned and their condition.
3. At the end of the cycle remove the basket and allow solution to drip back into the tank. Rinse the items and let them dry. Electric hot air dryers are available for this operation.

Do not overload the basket. If possible minimize or avoid contact between parts being cleaned. It is better to clean a small number of items at a time.

The cleaning solution should be replaced when cleaning cycles get longer. Drain the tank and dispose of the solution according to local regulations, thoroughly rinse the tank with clean water and prepare a new batch.
